Switzerland of the Americas
A
product of the silver bonanza of the 1890's, Kaslo is set
on a delta of the Kaslo River, between the Selkirk and Purcell
Mountains. On February 25, 1894 both a fire and hurricane
stuck the town all but destroying it. Fortunately the community
was re-built and the tree-lined streets and vintage buildings
thrill visitors.

There is a provincial park/campground north of town. Also
a number of commercial campground/RV parks, some with cottages
are located in area surrounding Kaslo. In town there is a
