Wilson Lake British Columbia Location: Wilson Lake is located 15 km (9 mi) east of Nakusp via a good logging road. BCFS campgrounds are located on the lake. The eastern one provides a boat and canoe launch and campsites and the western one provides the above as well as a day-use/picnic area. The elevation of the lake is 970 m (3182 ft). Fishing Report: Wilson Lake provides some of the best rainbow trout fishery in the Kootenays with fish of sizes up to 3 kg (6.5 lb). Kokanee is also abundant in the lake. Nearby Lakes Summit and Box Lakes - Both nearby Summit and Box Lakes are also known for their rainbow populations. Early season fly fishing and trolling are the methods used with the most success.
