Falkland
British Columbia

Part of the BC Adventure Network. Over 5 million web site visitors annually !

Falkland

The green, forested hills surrounding Falkland appears quite different from the drier climate of the rolling grassy hills area of the Kamloops, British Columbia.

The Falkland Valley was originally settled by homesteaders who built up the many productive farms in the area and farms and ranches are still a predominant feature in the area's landscape. Farmers' markets and road side stands with local produce are a common sight in the area. The latest type of produce to be grown by many in the area is ginseng. The black tarpaulin covered fields of ginseng are a common sight throughout the Thompson Okanagan High Country. The forested surrounding hills are full of easily accessible fishing lakes, while offering opportunities for hiking, biking and exploring.
