Location: Maxan is located west of the town of Burns Lake, and can be accessed by many secondary roads leading south off Hwy.#16.

Size 638 ha. (1313.3 ac.) Shoal 531.7 ha. (82 ft.)
Mean Depth 14.5 m. (47.6 ft.) Max. Depth 25 m. (82 ft.)
Game Fish Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout Fish Stocked None
Angler Usage Low to Moderate Elevation 762 m. (2499.4 ft.)
Ice Over November to Mid-April T.D.S. 77 mg/L.

Resorts & Campsites: A 12 vehicle BCFS campsite is situated in a sheltered bay on Maxan Lake. There is a small beach and boat launch located at the site.

Fishing Report: Maxan is considered a good spring lake producing Rainbows up to 2 lbs. and Lake Char reaching 15 lbs. or better. Trolling deep with spoons or plugs will net you the Char, while exploring the shoal area with flies will bring you excellent Rainbow success.
