Location: Taltapin is located northeast of the town of Burns Lake, and can be accessed by taking the Babine Lake Road north off Hwy. #16 to Pinkut Lake and turning east (right) onto the Fisheries Road. Turn off the Fisheries Road onto the Augier-Taltapin Road and follow it to a BCFS campsite on the west end of Taltapin Lake.

Mean Depth 39.6 m. (129.9 ft.) Max. Depth 95.7 m. (313.9 ft.)
Game Fish Rainbow Trout, Lake Char Fish Stocked None
Angler Usage Low Elevation 884 m. (2900 ft.)
Ice Over November to Mid-April T.D.S. 102 mg/L.

Resorts & Campsites: A 10 vehicle, semi-open Provincial Park campsite with a boat launch and swimming beach is located on the south end of the lake.

Fishing Report: Pinkut supports both a Rainbow and Lake Char fishery featuring bows reaching up into the 3-1/2 lb. range and Lake Char that have been reportedly caught up to the 20+ lbs.

Nearby Lakes

Division Lake - Division is a small lake of 23.6 ha. (58.3 ac.) located just south of Pinkut. Rainbows are reported to reach 3+ lbs. and are taken on the fly as well as trolling with various lures.
