The Highest City in Canada

This beautiful alpine city boasts four-season recreation in the Purcell Mountains. Along the Platzl, an esplanade punctuated with picturesque shops, hanging baskets and hand-painted fire hydrants, a life-sized Happy Hans emerges hourly from his room atop Canada’s largest Cuckoo Clock. The community of Kimberley is located in the BC Rockies region on Highway 95A, 32 km. north of Cranbrook.

Scenic biking and hiking paths thread through Kimberley Nature Park. The Mark Creek Nature Trail leads to Marysville Falls, a 100' cascade of water over rocks worn smooth. The recently completed Rails to Trails project links the community to Cranbrook.

The community of Kimberley is located in the BC Rockies region on Highway 95A, 32 km. north of Cranbrook.

City Information

Accommodations: Kimberley offers a variety of visitor services and lodging. There are a number of motels, hotels and campgrounds & RV parks located in or close to Kimberley. Also there are hotels and condominiums at the base of the ski hill.

Population: 6,723

Elevation: 1,113 metres (3,652 ft.)

Access: Kimberley is serviced by commercial bus line and the Canadian Rockies International Airport. Highway 95A, 32 km. north of Cranbrook, takes travelers to Kimberley.

Recreation Facilities & Activities: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, fishing, rafting, golfing, indoor tennis and racquetball courts, Swimming pool, skateboard & bike-park, biking, hiking.

Local Attractions: Kimberley Heritage Museum, Cominco Gardens, Kimberley Underground Mining Railway, Kimberley Golf Club, Trickle Creek Golf Resort, Bootleg Gap Golf Course, the downtown Platzl, mainstreet Marysville and Falls, Kimberley Skate and Bike Park, Kimberley Aquatic Centre, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Kimberley Nordic Trails.
