Skiing in British Columbia - Vancouver Island Skiing

Skiing on Vancouver Island, BC

[Mt. Cain] [Mt. Washington]

Mt. Cain Ski Resort:

Situated on the north end of Vancouver Island, Mount Cain offers a unique experience for skiers, snowboarders and backcountry explorers. Only a short drive (roughly two hours) from the north end of the island or Courtenay and Campbell River area, Mt. Cain is ideal for families and snow enthusiasts of all skill levels.

At Mount Cain you'll find untouched powder that has built up over the week, virtually no line-ups for lifts and the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of a family oriented mountain. Mt. Cain is located in a regional park and is run by a non-profit society, the Mt. Cain Alpine Park Society. It is Vancouver Island's only community owned and operated ski and snowboard facility. The hill offers a day lodge, new on-hill accommodation, ski and board school, and a wonderful restaurant.

Before Christmas the mountain is open Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After Christmas the mountain is open Saturday, Sunday and on those Mondays when school groups are scheduled. On Mondays, only the lower t-bar and handle tow will be in operation and half day rates will be charged all day (a real bargain!). Visitors should call the Snow Line ahead of time to confirm Monday openings.
